  6. Whatever format of disk you received, the following files should
  7. be present:
  8.              
  9.           Readme.exe     - This file
  10.           Readme.txt     - Corresponding text file
  11.           Manual.lzh     - Manual (packed)
  12.           Insth.bat      - Install to hard disk (not packed)
  13.           Instf.bat      - Install to floppies (not packed)
  14.           Register.frm   - Registration form (not packed)
  15.           LHA.exe        - LHA packer/unpacker (c) Joshi
  16.           LHADOC.lzh     - LHA documantation (packed)
  17.           File1.lzh      - Medpas file (packed)   
  18.           File2.lzh      - Medpas file (packed)
  19.           File3.lzh      - Medpas file (packed)
  20.           File4.lzh      - Medpas file (packed)

  24. The main files are packed using LH213 (c) Joshi. They will need
  25. unpacking using the install batch files
  26.  
  27.               INSTH.BAT ..... for hard disk installation
  28.               INSTF.BAT ..... for floppy disk installation).

  30. The installation files above are NOT interchangeable between different 
  31. formats. They are specific for the format they originated on. That is,
  32. INSTH.BAT and INSTF.bat on the 3.5" disk are not the same as that on 
  33. the 5.25" disk.

  35. Registration:
  36.                  
  37.      MEDPAS is shareware, for evaluation only. If you wish to
  38. continue using it after a trial period, or find it useful, you
  39. must register with iDRSystems Ltd or Cambridge Technologies.
  40. Registration will bring the benefits of

  43.         ... an enabled Dictionary and Notepad
  44.         ... a clear conscience
  45.         ... a substantial discount for the 256 color VGA

  58.          REGISTER.FRM may be printed by logging on to the disk containing
  59.          it and typing REGISTER.FRM > PRN or by using the on screen manual
  60.          and asking it to print the form.

  65.              ... MONEY order, personal cheque or bank draft in the

  71. Installation:

  73.      HARD DISK:
  74.           To install MEDPAS to a hard disk, make sure you have
  75.      more than 1.5 MB free. Place disk 1 in the floppy drive and
  76.      type:
  77.  
  78.             INSTH <source drive > <destination drive>
  79.          eg INSTH A C
  80.  
  81.      where <source drive> is the drive containing the MEDPAS disk 1
  82.      you received from the distributor, and <destination drive> is
  83.      the drive the MEDPAS files will be copied TO.
  84.      A third parameter  is available eg Insth A C M  which will
  85.      put you into the manual immeadiately you have installed MEDPAS.

  87.      Follow onscreen instructions to continue.

  89.      FLOPPY DISKS:
  90.           To run from floppy disk you need 2 floppy drives, these
  91.      may be any drive, 5.25, 3.5, 360K, 720k, 1.4 MB or 1.2 MB.
  92.      Format 5 disk in your B: drive, place your original disk 1 in
  93.      drive A: and type
  94.  
  95.             INSTF       (-no drive specification is needed)
  96.  
  97.           If Drives A: and B: are dissimilar, copy the newly installed
  98.      Disk 1 onto a disk formatted in drive A: and label it Disk 1.

  100. Further Info:
  101.  
  102.      On the hard disk all the unarchived files will be under
  103.      the subdirectory of \IDRSYSMP. There will be one batch file
  104.      MEDPAS.BAT  in the Root Directory. Note this is not the same
  105.      as the MEDPAS.BAT file used to run the floppy disk version.
  106.      The floppy disk file distribution is detailed in the file
  107.      MEDFILES.TXT found on Disk 4 of the unarchived set or in the
  108.      \IDRSYSMP subdirectory on your hard disk.

  111. Running MEDPAS:
  112.               
  113.      The hard disk will have a subdirectory of IDRSYSMP and a
  114. batch file called MEDPAS.BAT in the root directory. Simply type
  115.  
  116.                       MEDPAS  <CR>

  118. and follow instructions. Help is available with <Alt><F1>.

  120.      Running from floppies, place Disk 1 in Drive A: Disk 2
  121. in Drive B: and also type

  126. Manual:

  128.      Manual.exe is a dedicated reading utility which allows you to
  129. browse through the on-disc manual. It is to be found in the \IDRSYSMP
  130. subdirectory on the hard disk or on Disk 4 of the new disks.

  135.      Please enjoy the program but remember...  
  136.     
  137.     -   The software should only be used as an educational adjunct 
  138.         to the professional advice and help that is the proper domain 
  139.         of a qualified physician. 
  140.     -   It should never be used in any way as a replacement for it. 
  141.         The software is not an expert system and is not to be used to
  142.         diagnose, treat or otherwise be concerned with that which is the
  143.         province of a physician. iDRSystems Ltd. advises that qualified
  144.         medical help should be sought for any matter concerning the above.
